Hillman which is called "My Girlfriend is a Ghost?!". What we had to do for this assignment is to make a short animatic of whatever genre of our choosing and present that idea to the whole class. Like the other project we would have to make character constructions, script, beat board, storyboard, and some rough ideas of what we want in our story.
In "My Girlfriend is a Ghost" it is a story about a geek named Dave who moved in to a super cheap home only to realize that it is haunted by a terrifying yet beautiful ghost named Sally. Sally's goal was to scare Dave away or kill him but it turns out it had the opposite effect on him. Dave has fallen in love with Sally and will do anything for her to be his boyfriend. Sally is terrified of him and tried to run from Dave as he starts to chase her around the house.
This animatic is just incredible. Carmeron did a amazing job at editing this animatic and I see few flaws in it. According to him he had the most trouble applying the sound effects to the videos because it was time consuming. Other than that it sounds like he had no trouble editing this video and looks like he had a ton of fun doign so.
I for one did not work much on the storyboard but Cameron did most of the work even though I insisted to help him out on it. From what I see he did a good job creating dynamic angles for the viewers so the environment does not seem too boring. I was a bit worried about how the chase scene is going to turn out but I am amazed on what a great job he did on it. Overall one issue I did see is that he didn't update his scenes correctly but other than that he did a terrific job!
The beat board was in fact one of the easiest parts I believe for Cameron to do. Although it looks simple, it still manages to convey the story to the audience clearly. I could however imagine how tough it was for him to come up with Sally's design and I do love how he came up with the geeky look for Dave.
"Dave" - Cameron
"Sally" - Cameron
This is a part of the project that I was tasked to do and it was difficult trying to match the art style that Cameron made for the characters. The hardest part of this was to do the poses for Dave mostly because I tried to make a attempt at making Dave look like he is chasing someone. I am however proud of the design that I made for Sally since it was simple trying to make her feel more like a dead person.
These are the story ideas that me and Cameron had worked on together. We were inspired by movies like "The Grudge" and "The Ring" and put a little twist to it. The hard part was coming up with the plot summary since we had to now explain the story in detail on how it was going to play out. However we pulled through by coming up with ideas though out the summary and sharing them with each other.
Cameron and myself have also worked on the script together on how we are going to approach with the story. The hard part was coming up with ideas to put the script together. We were helping each other out through out the script to see which ideas work and overall it was a long and difficult process.
