In this picture I decided to utilize the rule of thirds so my flower would become the first thing that people will draw to. I chose the flower to become my focal point because it was surrounded by a bunch of other dried up flowers so it stood out to me. I also used some leading lines like the piece of wood and the branches of the tree to direct the people's attention to the flower. I felt that I did a pretty good job leading the eye of the viewer to the flower because of the branches and the piece of wood but I felt that if I have included the fence in the picture I could have had one more leading line to confirm it. Sadly however, if I were to include the fence the rule of thirds wouldn't apply to the flower anymore but to the tree in the background. I had to crop the picture because the flower wasn't touching the side of the picture I had taken and I also had to move it so the Rule of Thirds could apply to it. It was also a sunny day so I had to lower down my expose so the flower could be more visible. It was also a windy day so I had to take a lot of pictures because it always turned out to be blurry every time I shot a picture. There was also a statue on the side of the flower so I had to get into a weird position to take the picture. The hard part about this is that the background is really dark so I tried dodging and burning it but it didn't work out in the end so I decided to leave it alone. The problem was that I lowered down my light expose too much to a point where the background is not visible. I also used the dodge and burn method to darken the area around the flower so it could become the center of attention with it being the only object that has the most light. I also used the black and white method to bring out the spots that the flower had and the detail that it has. It has also allowed me to make the bottom part of the flower pedals clearer for people to see.
