I took this picture while I was walking at the creek and I saw this small flower that stood out from the bushes and trees that it was surrounded by. It was decently sunny and there was a slight breeze. I made sure that the lighting was okay because I wanted t make this image in a black and white format. I had to crop this picture so it could be applied to the rule of thirds. I felt that I did a pretty good job mainly focusing at the center of the flower because I made sure that the camera was focusing on it than on the bug or the background. I wanted my main focal point to be at the center of the flower and not at the little bug on the flower. I had difficulty taking a picture because I was cold and my hands were a little shaky. I had to wait a few minutes until I warmed myself up enough to a point where my hands aren't shaky anymore and I could finally take the picture. This was also the first picture I taken so I was having difficulty determining if the depth of field was correct and if I was really focusing on the flower, so I took a couple of pictures with different depths of field and chose the best one. I had many options to take a picture at a angle where the building could be in the background, the sidewalk, or the creek so I decided to take it on the creek. I used the dodge and burn tool to darken the background around the flower. I used levels to brighten up the flower a bit and I used hue/saturation to make the image turn black and white.
